The Path Behind the Flame

Interviewed by Antena 3 at the Tower of Hercules
where ancient myth met modern achievement before an audience of 2 million.

My name is Miguel A. Fernándezindependent author by vocation, industrial engineer by formation.

For over 20 years I’ve fused philosophy and techno-science to forge strength, wisdom, and freedom beyond the limits of mass thinking. My work has pursued one unifying aim:
To provide intellectual frameworks to today´s most valorous incarnations of the human condition so they can gain the chance of mastering the complex techno-scientific means of our time.

I stand for the strength of the individual against the tyranny of the masses, ideology, technocratic power, and social conformism. Independence, to me, is not weakness; it is a forge where wisdom, strength, and freedom are tempered, even if such growth remains invisible to the mainstream standards of today’s society. This path gave birth to the Fondo Natural project, initiated by me from scratch, and this cultural synthesis shaped my conviction that the body is the ultimate benchmark for callibrating the balance between spirit, mind, and matter. Testing that balance has taken me to several extremes, including a Guinness World Record in push-ups, achieving a number of reps 7 times higher than anything recorded before.

A synthesis of East and West — where technique becomes language,
and combat becomes understanding

My work blends the cultural legacies of East and West with the critical challenges facing today’s techno-industrial society. Through my writing, training, and public actions, I pursue an ideal of heroic transformation — one that inspires individuals to reconnect body, mind, and craft in an increasingly artificial world.
I am the author of Operative Traditions, a four-volume series exploring ancient and modern paths of embodied knowledge and transformation. I am also author of The Solar Warrior philosophical essays, which are foundational to all other branches of my literary work and complementary challenges.

Beyond the Lab Coat: Miguel´s Collaboration with Living Legacies

Beyond the ego, the Solar Warrior listens —
his true battle is to align a human life
with the deeper rhythms of nature and creation.

As a young industrial engineering student at the University of Vigo, I had the privilege of studying under Mariano Pérez-Amor, full professor (Catedrático) of physics at University of Vigo, a position representing the highest academic rank in the Spanish university system. Mariano became a key figure in the foundation of the academic approach to physics in the University of Vigo (Spain), and also had an extremely decisive influence in my intellectual journey and personal values during my early 20s. Mariano was not only an outstanding academic, but a deeply humanistic thinker who quietly set the standards by which I would later measure all serious scientific work. In our many tutorial sessions Mariano passionately taught me, above all, that science must not merely calculate but must illuminate. It must open our minds to novel visions of the universe and of ourselves.
As an extension of that ideal as a student, I am now collaborating in the “Challenge to Science” project with Sir Prof. Ruggero Santilli. Ruggero has been nominated over 100 times for the Nobel Prize and is renowned for his pioneering work in Hadronic Mechanics—developed during his time at Harvard with support from the U.S. Department of Energy— but what truly honors me about such collaboration is not Ruggero´s prestige, but the spirit of his science.

While I have gladly shared mywork through selected interviews and scientific presentations — such as the 2024 SEMF conference — I have consistently declined invitations to participate in projects driven by political agendas or designed to generate controversy. My commitment remains rooted in intellectual independence, ethical clarity, and the pursuit of meaningful dialogue over spectacle.

I am fluent in Spanish, English, Galician, French, Portuguese, and Italian, which is another inevitable outcome of my vocation towards cultural synthesis as a living practice — aiming to speak to a broad international audience and building bridges across traditions.
My ongoing projects include:
(1)
Publishing new books that further develop the Solar Warrior ethos
(2)
A global scientific challenge to reveal a phenomenon that defies Newtonian mechanics — a wager designed to awaken public awareness of the exceptional
(3)
Continued integration of personal experience, rigorous inquiry, and heroic values into works that speak to the deeper human spirit.

Born on the Winter Solstice, my personal journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of light — through adversity, across disciplines, and against the entropy of modern life.
